5w1 recorder (most often referred to as XVR) is a multi-system device that can recognize, receive and save the image from cameras operating in 5 different standards: AHD, HD-CVI, HD-TVI, old analogue (CVBS) and digital IP. This makes one central device completely universal and eliminates the risk that the newly purchased camera will not fit the system.
2. How is the XVR (5w1) recorder different from the traditional NVR recorder? +
The difference lies in sockets and supported technology. NVR only works with digital IP cameras via LAN. In turn hybrid recorder XVR 5w1 It has physical, round BNC ports for coaxial cables (for HD analog cameras) and at the same time has Ethernet port through which it can connect to digital IP cameras located on the same network.
3. Do I have to manually assign the type of camera connected to the 5w1 recorder? +

4. How does connecting IP cameras to hybrid recorder 5w1 work? +
This is done virtually through the local LAN network. The XVR recorder connects the network cable to your home router. IP cameras (e.g. wired PoE or wireless Wi-Fi) also log into the same router network. Then in the menu hybrid recorder you enter the digital channel management tab, search for IP cameras on the network and assign them to free logic channels of the device.
5. What does "4 channels BNC + 2 IP channels" mean? +
This means that the recorder XVR 5w1 allows for simultaneous operation of 4 analog cameras connected with wires under the BNC socket and additionally (without loss of analog sockets) allows the LAN to add 2 digital IP cameras.
